Glenn Jones, a native Memphian, Glenn began singing with the Memphis Vocal Arts Ensemble in 1997, bringing a background of lifelong musical involvement beginning in elementary school. After four years of Whitehaven High School band and starring in Oklahoma! his senior year, college at Sewanee and Southwestern (Rhodes) included more band and choral experience. Most notably was the opportunity of singing under Dr. Burnett C. (Papa) Tuthill in the Southwestern Singers and a personal first time performance of the entire Bach B Minor Mass. Other memorable highlights include participating in two solemn pontifical masses in St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome. Formal voice training began with Berta Sue Wilhelm and continued later with periodic coaching from Zelma Lee Thomas and Neumon Leighton. Glenn’s musical training also included five years of piano with Miss Eugenia Eason of the Eason-Withee School of Music in Memphis. Glenn’s many years of choral experience has established a wide repertoire of music from before Bach to Britten and beyond
