Delores Kinsolving (alto) Delores Kinsolving is a founding member of the MVAE as well as being the Business and Operations Manager for the past seven years. Delores is a native Memphian, She earned her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Music Education as well as completing partial work toward a Doctorate Degree from the University of Memphis. Her minor was in organ and she played the cello and bassoon in the two separate orchestras while she was a student at the University. Delores retired from the Memphis City Schools in 1985 as director of choral activities and swing choir as well as teaching a variety of their subjects during her teaching career. She has been in music all of her life, starting with singing in the church choir. Her involvements have included choir director, organist, Chorus Mistress for Opera Memphis, singing in the Memphis Symphony Chorus with the late Sara Beth Causey, Vincent DeFrank and Robert Shaw. She has prepared and conducted chorus and orchestra for the Brahms Requiem with high school students and the Hymns Triumphant with choirs from 13 churches and orchestra. |
