Jay Mednikow (tenor)

Jay Mednikow has been involved with music all his life, having first learned a love of music from his aunt who went to Julliard School of Music and remained there as a Professor of Piano until her retirement. Jay began piano lessons at seven and studied with Daniel Fletcher for four years during high school. He began singing in high school at Memphis University School, performing in many student theater productions there, and never stopped. He won the school talent contest when he was a senior. As a college student, Jay sang with the Harvard Glee Club, a 60- man chorus specializing in Renaissance music, and the Harvard Din & Tonics, a fourteen-man a cappella group that specialized in American standards. While in business school, Jay joined the Duke Pitchforks, also an a cappella group. Music is Jay’s avocation; his day-job is running the Memphis jewelry business that bears his name. Jay and his wife Elizabeth are proud parents of Sarah Jane Mednikow, who has Jay wrapped around her little finger, and twin boys Parker and Griffin.
