Jana-Lynn Skelley (soprano)

Jana-Lynn Skelley has enjoyed making music for most of her life. At a young age, she began piano lessons in Memphis with Dorothy Cox and continued piano through her freshman year in college. It was during that time at Harding University that she was encouraged to study voice. There she found that she was a coloratura soprano and developed an appreciation for opera. While at Harding, Jana-Lynn sang with the Chorale and A Cappella Chorus and toured Europe with these groups in '79 and '82. She has recently begun teaching piano lessons in her home. Her family is musical as well, with her husband playing flute and clarinet, and their two children writing hymns, playing cello and piano. "I enjoy the diversity of music MVAE performs as well as the singers with whom I perform."
