Cynthia Wilson (soprano)

Cynthia Wilson is a gifted young singing with a large rich mezzo-soprano voice. She is a native Tennessean from Jackson, TN. Cynthia has studied vocal performance since high school and holds a Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance. Cynthia sings professionally around the Memphis area. She has also been a featured singer in summer music festivals in New York and abroad. Cynthia has been seen singing roles such as Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Mother in The Consul, Maddelena in Rigoletto, Cousin Nettie in Carousel, Santuzza and Mamma Lucia in Cavalleria Rusticana, Principessa in Suor Angelica, and Ulrica in Un Ballo in Maschera among others. Cynthia has recently rejoined MVAE since moving back to Memphis after studying voice in Manhattan. She has studied with Denes Striny, Julie Freeman, Dr. Pamela Gaston, Tom Machen, and Dr. John Dougherty. Cynthia currently lives here in Memphis with her husband Mark and their four four-legged children.
